Cleaning
How should I clean the inside of the Torus bowl?
Like any drinking utensil, Torus bowls need to be cleaned regularly. Our antimicrobial ingredients certainly help, but as they say, cleanliness is godliness!
You should clean the Torus bowl at least once a week. You can use soapy water, vinegar or sterilizing tablets suitable for food utensils . Whatever you use, put it inside the bowl, move the cap to “lock” position on the Torus bowl. Shake the bowl for a minute before letting it sit briefly and then emptying and rinsing out.
We have full Cleaning Instructions and Videos to show you how to use and clean your Torus bowl.
You cannot open the Torus bowl to look inside. This is to ensure that the mechanics inside do not get damaged or misaligned which would affect the operation of the bowl. However, cleaning as explained will keep your Torus bowl clean.
Why are there sometimes “tidal marks” left on the bowl?
You may notice that a light tidal mark may emerge at the water line. This depends on the source of your water. Usually the more “stony” or “hard” the water, the more prevalent a tidal mark may become. Our antimicrobial will help to minimize this as will regular cleaning.
Water flow
How high should the Torus bowl fill to?
When the cap is turned to the “flow” icon, the water from the walls of your Torus bowl will fill to the top of the water outlet.
Why is my Torus overfilling?
If your Torus bowl is filling to a level above the water outlet, there is a problem with the alignment of your filter mechanism. This is easily fixed. You simply need to remove the cap and ensure that the slots for the neck of the cap are on each side of the bowl. If the cap has been inserted incorrectly, this could be out of alignment.
Why is my Torus not filling properly?
If your Torus bowl is not filling just to the top of the water outlet, there is a problem with the alignment of your filter mechanism. This is easily fixed. You simply need to remove the cap and ensure that the slots for the neck of the cap are on each side of the bowl. If the cap has been inserted incorrectly, this could be out of alignment.
