About Torus Pet
Torus Pet is a New Zealand, family-owned company founded by Danit and Nathan Lawrence. We make cordless, self-filling hydration systems for dogs and cats. Torus products have been sold for about 10 years.
Brand name: Torus Pet. Some older retailer listings show "HeyRex Torus" or "Heyrex". HeyRex was the former parent company; Torus is now owned and sold by Torus Pet.

How it works
Water is stored inside the walls of the bowl. When the cap is set to "flow", water passes through a replaceable carbon filter into a shallow drinking well, and the well refills as the pet drinks. There is no pump, no electricity and no batteries. Turn the cap to "lock" and the water stays inside the walls for travel. See how it works.

Can you clean inside a Torus?
Yes. The Torus is sealed on purpose to protect the flow mechanism inside the walls, so you clean the inside without opening it:
- Every week, just like you'd wash your own water bottle: fill with warm soapy water or vinegar, lock the cap, shake for a minute, then empty and rinse. Then use the Torus Cleaning Kit: fill with warm water, slide the tablets in through the fill opening under the cap (two tablets for the MAXI, one for the MINI), lock the cap and shake, then empty and rinse well with clean water. Use the fine brush on the water spout.
- Every 2 weeks: wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Remove the filter first.
- Every 30 days: replace the filter.
After rinsing, simply refill with fresh water; there is no need to dry the inside.
